Ummah Relief and Reconstruction Waqf Trust

One registered waqf (endowment) trust that holds all the plan's zakat (almsgiving) and endowment money: a ring-fenced, unconditional Palestine fund, Gaza reconstruction in place, Sudan relief, Rohingya camps, Uyghur refugees, Indian legal aid and rehousing, and litigation support. It has trustees, a sharia board, audit and sanctions compliance, and never relies on interest (riba).

How giving works

  • The app never holds money. Gifts go straight into the Trust's own accounts, through riba-free (interest-free) payment channels.
  • One trust, ring-fenced funds. Zakat, sadaqa (voluntary charity) and waqf (endowment) are kept apart and spent only on the fund you choose.
  • Every grant is shown. Who received it, how much, for what, and the report that proves it.
  • Trustees, a sharia board, audit and sanctions compliance govern it; it never relies on interest (riba).

Where it stands: the Trust is registered in month 3 of the plan, and its accounts open then. Until that day nothing can be paid here — you can record a pledge, and the Trust writes to you when its accounts open.

Pledge your zakat, sadaqa or waqf

This records a pledge only. No card or bank details are asked for and no money is taken here, now or later: the Trust's own accounts receive gifts directly. Your details are seen only by the Trust's administrators.

Mosques and zakat committees

Mosques, zakat committees, waqf bodies and national zakat authorities can route a share of zakat through the Trust — to replace the funding that has been cut — and receive a report on every grant they fund.

Where each grant went

No grant has been made yet. The Trust's first grants — to UNRWA, Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms and the Rohingya camps — are planned for month 3; each will be listed here with its report.

Where it stands in twelve months

A registered endowment (waqf) trust with trustees, a sharia (Islamic law) board and a public audit. It holds the plan's zakat (almsgiving) and waqf money, including a ring-fenced Palestine fund that no state can attach conditions to, and pays it out through accountable agencies to UNRWA, the Emergency Response Rooms, the Rohingya camps, Uyghur refugee families and Assam's evicted families.

Mutual solidarity and relief (takaful) · Trust and stewardship (amana) · Protection of life (hifz al-nafs)

First steps

  1. Draft the deed, sharia board terms and compliance manual (months 1-2)
  2. Register the trust in a jurisdiction whose blocking law protects it, and appoint trustees (month 3)
  3. Open the giving app and make the first grants to UNRWA, the Emergency Response Rooms and the Rohingya camps (month 3)

The work, quarter by quarter

  • Months 1-3

Draft the Waqf Trust's deed, trustee rules, sharia board terms, audit and sanctions-compliance manual. Include one ring-fenced, unconditional Palestine fund that is kept beyond any single state's reach by lawful means only, and the specification for a giving app that never holds funds.

Delivers: A registrable trust deed, sharia governance code, compliance manual and giving-app design.

  • Months 1-3

Ask national zakat authorities, which set their own disbursement rules, to route a share of zakat through the Trust to replace cut funding: UNRWA's water, health and schooling past September 2026, Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms, Rohingya food rations, Uyghur refugee families and Assam's evicted families.

Delivers: Written commitments from national zakat authorities to channel zakat through the Trust from the day it opens.

  • Months 1-3 · with Uyghur diaspora and documentation groups

Press Canada's immigration ministry to fill its 10,000-place Uyghur resettlement pledge before the end-2026 deadline, and other host states' interior ministries to make non-refoulement of Uyghurs binding. Offer zakat-funded community sponsorship through the Trust.

Delivers: Faster Canadian processing and written non-refoulement commitments from host ministries.

  • Months 10-12 · with Willing Muslim-majority states (in place of OIC and Arab League consensus)

Ask South Africa and The Gambia to lead willing Muslim-majority states in two filings: declarations of intervention in South Africa v Israel, and a Genocide Convention case against a state that keeps supplying Israel and has accepted Article IX, relying on the 2022 ruling that any party may sue in the Convention's common interest. The Trust funds The Gambia's case to judgment, and South Africa is asked to bring its own arms approvals into line.

Delivers: Filings lodged at the ICJ.

  • Months 10-12

Ask OCHA, WFP and UNHCR to accept the Trust's pooled zakat and waqf grants for food, water and cholera response in el-Obeid and Tawila and for refugee reception in Chad. Ask them also to fund the Emergency Response Rooms directly and tie their engagement with both armies to an end to the detention of the Rooms' volunteers.

Delivers: Grant agreements under which the Trust's money reaches el-Obeid, Tawila, Chad and the Emergency Response Rooms.

    Sudan
  • Months 10-12 · with Rohingya representative and survivor bodies

Ask Bangladesh and Malaysia to keep return voluntary and refuse any link between repatriation and dropping the ICJ case. Malaysia should halt its approved deportations and give UNHCR access to detention, and both should open lawful work for Rohingya, backed by the Trust's camp funding, and accept a representative body chosen through consultation in the camps.

Delivers: Halted deportations and written commitments to voluntary return and lawful work.
