Month 1 · National zakat authorities

Zakat where the funding was cut

The ask

National zakat authorities: route a share of zakat (obligatory alms) through the Ummah Relief and Reconstruction Waqf Trust to replace funding that has been cut.

Why

Zakat authorities set their own disbursement rules, so they can fill the gaps: UNRWA's water, health and schooling past September 2026, Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms, Rohingya food rations, Uyghur refugee families and Assam's evicted families.

What you can do

  1. Write to your national zakat authority asking it to route a share of zakat through the Trust to these five gaps.
  2. Ask your mosque's zakat committee to back the request and to ask for the Trust's audit and sanctions-compliance manual.
  3. Once the Trust is registered (planned for month 3), give zakat, sadaqa (voluntary charity) or a waqf pledge through the giving app. The app never holds your money: it goes straight into the Trust's own accounts by riba-free (interest-free) payment.
  4. Use the app to check where each grant went and share the report with your congregation.

For: Zakat payers, congregations, zakat committees and waqf (endowment) bodies. From the plan: “Ask national zakat authorities to route a share of zakat through the Trust to replace cut funding” — the Genocide Plan.
