Month 1 · The foreign ministries of Malaysia and Indonesia
Stand with the Rohingya at Baghdad, Manila and the UN
MyanmarThe ask
Malaysia and Indonesia: carry a time-bound Rohingya action plan in Baghdad, block any normalisation of Min Aung Hlaing in Manila, and vote to refuse the junta's UN credentials.
Why
No powerful member shields Myanmar at the 17 October Baghdad meeting, so a Rohingya action plan with assessed funding for The Gambia's case can pass there. Manila and the 81st General Assembly then decide whether the junta is normalised or seated.
What you can do
- Today, before the 17 October Baghdad ministers' meeting, write to Malaysia's or Indonesia's foreign ministry. Ask for a time-bound Rohingya action plan with assessed funding for The Gambia's ICJ case.
- Ask your member of parliament to put a public question on the November Manila summit: no normalisation of Min Aung Hlaing.
- Share the Justice Council's tracker page showing each state's position, and correct any claim that is not from a verified source.
- Before the 81st General Assembly's credentials decision, write again and ask for a vote to refuse the junta's envoy a seat.
