Month 4 · Mosques, zakat committees and waqf (endowment) bodies

From the rulings to the pulpit

PalestineSudanMyanmarThe UyghursIndia's Muslims

The ask

Mosques and zakat committees: adopt the Independent Scholars' Council's first rulings and relay them in full.

Why

The Council, convened through the IUMS, which no arming state controls, issues joint rulings on all five cases. It takes on work the captured Fiqh Academy and Muslim World League have left undone.

What you can do

  1. Ask your imam to relay the full texts of the rulings in the Friday sermon (khutbah). They are published on the Justice Council website.
  2. Ask your mosque to teach the individual duty to aid Palestinians in every possible way, and that avoiding indirect ties to oppression is recommended (mustahabb).
  3. Ask your zakat committee or waqf (endowment) body to screen its endowments, and join informed, lawful boycotts.
  4. Ask for sermons against ethnic supremacy in Darfur, and speak for the Rohingya and Uyghurs using verified sources only.

For: Imams, mosque committees, congregations and waqf trustees. From the plan: “Ask mosques and zakat committees to adopt the Scholars' Council's first rulings” — the Genocide Plan.
